Cooling Program
What is it?
Earn a rebate and help reduce your energy costs when you add or replace old cooling equipment at your facility.
How does it work?
Aimed at systems under 760,000 Btu, rebates for installing new equipment that meets our energy-efficiency standards are approximately $50 per ton for Electric Unitary Air Conditioners (direct expansion) and $37.50 per ton for Electric Package Terminal Air Conditioners. Make the upgrade to new equipment, earn the rebate, and enjoy greater cooling efficiency at your facility.
Minimum qualifying efficiency rating is as follows:
- Electric Package Terminal Air Conditioners (PTAC)
(>7,000 Btu and <15,000 Btu) - EER 11.5
- Electric Unitary Air Conditioners
(<65,000 Btu) - EER 11.5
- Electric Unitary Air Conditioners
(>65,000 Btu and <240,000 Btu) - EER 10.5
- Electric Unitary Air Conditioners
(>240,000 Btu and <760,000 Btu) - EER 10.5
How do I participate?
To participate, please follow these steps:
- Mail or e-mail your project proposal to Tampa Electric. Once your proposal is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site visit for pre-inspection.
- After the pre-inspection is complete or Tampa Electric approves your proposal, download and submit the Cooling program application to Tampa Electric. Once your application is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site post-inspection.
- Tampa Electric will process the rebate check after the program guidelines are met. Please allow 4 weeks to process your rebate check.
