Electronically Commutated Motors Program

What is it?

This program will help you reduce demand and save money on energy costs. You can earn a rebate when you install electronically commutative motors in existing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

How does it work?

The Electronically Commutated Motors (ECM) program is available to commercial and industrial customers. The following rebates are available when you retrofit and/or replace inefficient evaporator motors for commercial air conditioning or refrigeration equipment:

Air Conditioning ECM Equipment – $180 per horsepower
Refrigeration ECM Equipment – $125 per horsepower

All work must be performed by a licensed contractor.

How do I participate?

To participate, please follow these simple steps:

Note: A pre-verification is not required for the ECM program.

After the work is complete, download and submit the commercial Electronically Commutated Motors program application, along with a copy of the manufacturer's specification sheet and your paid invoice to Tampa Electric. Once your application is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site post-verification.
Tampa Electric will process the rebate check after the program guidelines are met. Please allow four weeks for processing.
