Lighting Program

What is it?

Efficient and effective lighting is a must for any business – especially when it comes to site safety. The Lighting program offers a rebate when you upgrade the permanent lighting at your facility. Conditioned or non-conditioned space lighting systems, along with hardwired compact fluorescent fixtures and LED exit signs may qualify.

How does it work?

For replacing your current lighting system with a new, more efficient system, you may earn $175 per kilowatt (kW) reduction. You can earn $25 per exit sign when retrofitting standard exit signs with permanent (hardwired), energy efficient LED upgrades.
A minimum of one kW must be achieved to qualify for the rebate.

How do I participate?

To participate, please follow these steps:

Mail or e-mail your project proposal to Tampa Electric. Once your proposal is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site visit for pre-inspection.
After the pre-inspection is complete or Tampa Electric approves your proposal, download and submit the Lighting program application to Tampa Electric. Once your application is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site post-inspection.
Tampa Electric will process the rebate check after the program guidelines are met. Please allow 4 weeks to process your rebate check.
