Lighting Program

What is it?

Efficient and effective lighting is a must for any business – especially when it comes to site safety. The Commercial Lighting Program offers incentives for upgrading the permanent lighting at your facility (this must include fixtures and not just lamps), both in conditioned or un-conditioned space.

How does it work?

For replacing your current lighting system with a new, more efficient system, you may earn $0.15 per watt reduction. (A minimum of one kilowatt (kW) must be achieved to qualify for the incentive.)

How do I participate?

To participate, please follow these steps:

  1. Mail or fax your project proposal to Tampa Electric. Once your proposal is received, a Tampa Electric representative will schedule an on-site visit for pre-inspection.
  2. After the pre-inspection is complete, download and submit the Commercial Lighting application to Tampa Electric. Once your application is received, a Tampa Electric representative will schedule an on-site post-inspection.
  3. Tampa Electric will process the rebate check after the inspection is complete and all program guidelines are met. Please allow 4 weeks to process your rebate check.
