Customers to see new account number, billing date, meter reading route changes
TAMPA, June 9, 2004
Due to increased customer growth in our service territory, Tampa Electric will change meter reading routes in certain areas. Customers affected by the re-routing will receive new account numbers and billing due dates. They will be notified by a printed message on their monthly electric bill and a bill insert.
Also, customers are reminded to submit the new account number if they subscribe to any online bill payment service other than Tampa Electric’s E-bill.
The date change could mean fewer days or more days in the billing cycle preceding the date change, resulting in slightly lower-than-normal or higher-than-normal electric bills for just that billing cycle.
“After the re-routing schedule is implemented, Tampa Electric will continue to read customer meters around the new date,” said Gordon Hudson, coordinator-Customer Account Field Operations.
“The new schedules will enable Tampa Electric meter readers to complete their schedules faster and more efficiently, which helps keep electricity prices down,” Hudson said.
