Tampa Electric launches new online solar energy system cost calculator
The new online system gives customers an approximate cost to install solar panel systems on homes and business.
TAMPA, February 4, 2010
Tampa Electric today announced the launch of a new Web application to provide customers interested in installing a solar photovoltaic system with the resources necessary to help them make an informed buying decision.
The user-friendly Web calculator asks customers to provide information including the size of the solar panel system they want to install and whether it will serve a home or business. It then gives users the following estimates:
- The dollar value of energy produced by their system per month.
- The number of years it will take to recover their investment (an energy payback estimate in number of years).
- The amount of roof space required to install their system.
- The amount of energy the system will produce per month in kilowatt-hours.
The Tampa Electric Solar System Cost Calculator can be accessed at:
“Tampa Electric is providing this information online to enable customers interested in using solar energy in their homes and businesses to make the most informed financial decision possible,” said Bruce Narzissenfeld, vice president of customer care and fuels management at Tampa Electric.
