Severe weather update 6
TAMPA, April 2, 2011
Tampa Electric is reporting as of 3:30 p.m. approximately 4,000 customers without electric service from a peak of 87,000 on Thursday. We have made substantial progress today and have re-energized 95 percent of customers affected by Thursday's severe weather and tornados.
We are substantially complete on our restoration and have approximately 600 Tampa Electric team members and multiple contractors continuing to work throughout the night. If you do not see restoration crews in your area and are without power, please call Tampa Electric's dedicated toll-free automated system at 1-877-588-1010.
The intensity and suddenness of Thursday's severe weather and tornados was very unique and Tampa Electric would like to thank its customers for their patience throughout the restoration process.
Due to the damage to some customers' premises, some may not be able to be re-energized in this process.
