Q. How much will I get paid for generating energy that is returned to the electric system?
A. In the same way customers are billed monthly for the electricity they used the month before, you will receive a credit on your bill for the amount of energy that you produced the previous month in excess of your consumption. The credit amount you will receive is based on your current retail energy rate, which is based on the taxes and franchise fees in your area. At the end of the year, if applicable, any excess energy you have generated will be paid to you at the as available rate.
