A. Tampa Electric’s Renewable Energy program is available to both residential and business customers. Visit the Renewable Energy Web page to sign up and learn more. Tampa Electric’s standard program is available to both residential and business customers. Simply purchase a portion of your electricity from renewable sources by signing up for $5 blocks of renewable energy. For each block purchased, Tampa Electric will produce and distribute 200 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy. Tampa Electric also offers a "one time" purchase program. Whether you’re hosting an event at a convention center, hotel, stadium or any other location* – even at your home – we’ll provide the required number of $5.00, 200 kilowatt-hour (kWh) blocks for electricity generated from renewable sources, including solar and biomass.
