As a natural extension to our Renewable Energy program, Tampa Electric will provide interconnection to a solar panel system (sometimes referred to as a photovoltaic or PV system) installed at your home or business. After you complete a certified installation, Tampa Electric will install, own and maintain metering equipment used to measure the kilowatt-hours of electricity produced by your system. Any excess electricity will be delivered to Tampa Electric’s power system, and in return, you will receive a credit on your electric bill that reflects the offset in fuel costs that Tampa Electric would have otherwise incurred.
