Interconnection of Your Solar Panel System

As a natural extension to our Renewable Energy program, Tampa Electric will provide interconnection to a solar panel system (sometimes referred to as a photovoltaic or PV system) installed at your home or business. After you complete a certified installation, Tampa Electric will install, own and maintain metering equipment used to measure the kilowatt-hours of electricity produced by your system. Any excess electricity will be delivered to Tampa Electric’s power system, and in return, you will receive a credit on your electric bill that reflects the offset in fuel costs that Tampa Electric would have otherwise incurred. For more details on the credit, visit our Retail Tariff Book and select section 8.
