The delivery of reliable, affordable electricity to our customers requires Tampa Electric to regularly maintain and, as required, add to our electrical system. With continued growth in your area, we must regularly monitor our system to ensure reliable service to our customers, now and in the future. Due to this growth, Tampa Electric plans to add a second transformer and a new distribution circuit to our existing FishHawk substation.
Construction on the project will begin at the FishHawk substation, located off of FishHawk Boulevard, and will follow a route from the substation north to Lithia Pinecrest Rd. then along the east side of Lithia Pinecrest Rd. to Lithia Springs Rd. The portion of the project along Lithia Pinecrest Rd. involves re-building the existing distribution line by replacing the existing electrical poles with new wood and/or concrete poles to accommodate both the new and existing lines.
The remainder of the work from Lithia Springs Park to Spring Rd., then north along Spring Rd. to Adelaide Ave., and from the intersection of Spring Rd. and Williams Blvd. east along Williams to Rose St. will involve installing several new poles and upgrading the existing lines.
At the intersection of Rose St. and Lithia Pinecrest Rd. the line will run under Lithia Pinecrest Rd. and tie-in to the existing line on east side of Lithia Pinecrest Rd.
Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in March 2008 and is planned to be completed by the end of August 2008.
