Meadow Pointe Blvd to Morris Bridge Rd

Tampa Electric is committed to providing reliable, cost-effective electricity to you and your neighbors in the Meadow Pointe community.

Tampa Electric plans to build a new power line in your community. The line will run 2 miles, between the existing Wilderness substation, near Morris Bridge (CR 579) and Camerton roads, and the existing power lines at the south end of Meadow Pointe Boulevard, near Beardsley Drive and Thackery Way. In addition to the power line, Tampa Electric plans to build a private, gravel maintenance road for the construction, inspection and future maintenance of the new equipment. A map of the project area is enclosed.

Project Highlights:

  • Crews will trim and remove trees along the path of the new distribution line
  • Tampa Electric's maintenance road will connect the Wilderness substation and Meadow Pointe Boulevard
  • The new 13-kilovolt distribution power lines will be built on:
    • 73 wood poles up to 45 feet tall with cross arms
    • 6 concrete poles up to 50 feet tall with cross arms

The project is scheduled to begin in November 2011, when crews will trim and remove trees along Tampa Electric's easement. During construction of the access road, trucks will use State Road 56, Meadow Pointe Boulevard and Morris Bridge Road to haul gravel to the construction area. When the Tampa Electric maintenance road is complete, crews will construct the power line. The project will be complete by the end of May 2012. When construction is complete, crews will restore the area as close to original condition as possible.

We urge residents to drive safely during construction for the safety of residents, vehicles and Tampa Electric crews.
