The delivery of reliable, affordable electricity to our customers requires Tampa Electric to regularly maintain and, as required, add to our transmission and distribution system. With continued growth in our area, we must monitor our system to ensure reliable service to our customers, now and in the future.
Tampa Electric plans to construct a new 230-kilovolt transmission line primarily on public right-of-way and on existing Tampa Electric right-of-way located in your area. This project also includes construction of a new substation on the south side of SR 60 at the intersection of Turner Road. In the coming months you will see survey crews in your area collecting data for the construction of this project.
The new line, which will begin at the existing Pebbledale substation located south of County Road 640 adjacent to Bradshaw Industrial Park, will follow a route west along County Road 640 to SR 37 then north along SR 37 approximately one mile. The new transmission line will then proceed in a northwesterly direction to SR 60 west of Mulberry. It will follow a route west along SR 60 to the new Willow Oak substation, a total span of approximately nine miles.
The new transmission line and substation will allow Tampa Electric to maintain reliability and strengthen the electrical system in the area.
An Open House with Tampa Electric company representatives, who shared our construction plans and answered questions, was held on Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at:
Willow Oak Baptist Church
3390 Willow Oak Road
Mulberry, FL
