Tampa Electric Launches Mobile Web Site

New site will provide useful company information for customers on-the -go

TAMPA, September 18, 2009

Tampa Electric today announced it has launched a new mobile Web site specifically optimized for mobile devices / smart phones such as iPhones, Blackberries, etc.

The new mobile Web site contains the following information:

Customer Care phone numbers for Hillsborough, Polk and other counties; information on TTY for the hearing-impaired and mailing addresses.
Outage information by area; customers affected and estimated time of resolution.
Payment locations.
Electric system safety information.
Link to online bill payment.

Vice President of Customer Care Bruce Narzissenfeld said, “This new mobile Web site will allow smart phone users to access useful company information at any time from any location.”

The new Web site was constructed in response to the rapid growth in the use of smart phone technology in our service area. The trend for customer service requires the inclusion of solutions for smart phone users. Analysts expect mobile data to be bigger than voice by 2011.
