Seal of the Department of Veterans AffairsTampa Electric Power Pros™ is a registered and certified apprenticeship program. We are sponsored by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and conjunctively by the U.S. Department of Labor through FLDOE’s apprenticeship affiliation.

The Apprenticeship Office of the Florida Department of Education’s Division of Workforce Education (the industry’s practical arts college system) is developing an alliance with the University of South Florida for Tampa Electric Power Pros apprentices to receive college credits for skills center apprenticeship training activities. Hillsborough Community College already extends 33 credit hours towards an Industrial Management Technology AS Degree.

Jon D. Goins, Apprenticeship Manager, Region 5, Florida Department of Education, said: “When your apprentices receive their Journeyperson Completion Certificates from Tampa Electric, we know they have accomplished the best education available for line personnel, substation electricians and field service engineers.”

VA benefits

Seal of the State of FloridaAny eligible apprentice who served in the armed forces and is participating in Tampa Electric’s apprenticeship program can receive educational training benefits. Tampa Electric’s Skills Center Apprenticeship Program is recognized by the government as an educational entity for eligible veterans to receive educational benefits.
