

Q. How do I file a claim?
A. Please do not call Tampa Electric to file a claim. All claims are handled by the manufacturer of the surge protection equipment. If you sustain damage to a major non-electronic appliance, first check the primary unit installed at or near the electric meter. If the two red LEDs are not illuminated, call Meter Treater Inc. at 1-800-638-3788 to initiate a claim. If you sustain damage to protected electronics, locate the manufacturer’s name on the plug-in protector and call the appropriate manufacturer (listed below) to initiate a claim.
