Frequently Asked Question

Q. I see crews working in my neighborhood and my electricity is still out. Can you tell me why?

A. Tampa Electric’s energy distribution system is a complex grid of power lines, transformers and services for delivering electricity to your home or business. These systems are interconnected across the service area. As crews repair part of the system, there may be other troublemen or line crews working on another part of the circuit. There could be several repairs needed on the same circuit. Due to the extensive destruction that occurred with this storm, damage may have potentially occurred at a portion of the system that supplies the power to our particular circuit. As the repairs are made in your neighborhood, the system that supplies your neighborhood may not be restored at that point.
