Window Replacement

Replacing existing windows with energy-efficient windows will help to reduce solar heat gain. To qualify for a rebate of $2.65 per square foot, windows must be installed within conditioned space and be labeled by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) to have a minimum Solar Heat Gain Coefficiency (SHGC) less than or equal to .35, and a U-factor less than or equal to .60.

In addition, the existing structure must have electric whole-house air conditioning or heating. The rebate is based only on newly installed windows and sliding glass doors meeting the requirements above. After window replacements are installed, you are required to complete, sign and date our Window Replacement form . A hard copy of the form, including proof of purchase (paid receipt) and a copy of the NFRC label from each window must be submitted to Tampa Electric within 12 months of the installation date in order for you to qualify for the rebate.
