How do surges enter my home?
High-voltage surges can enter your home through electric lines, telephone wires or cable TV wiring, and can cause costly damage to:
- Large motor driven appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators and heating and cooling equipment;
- Entertainment equipment including TVs and stereos;
- Computer and home-office equipment; and
- Microwave ovens and garage door openers
