A. Tampa Electric closely watches cold weather forecasts. We also monitor our generation capacity. Through Tampa Electric’s forecasting efforts, we are able to plan maintenance and other activities accordingly to accommodate peak periods of energy use. However, in cold weather (as with any type of inclement weather), occasional outages are possible. Typically, they are small, localized and repaired quickly.
