Electronically Commutated Motors Program

The Electronically Commutated Motors (ECM) program will help you reduce demand and save money on energy costs when you install energy-efficient equipment at your commercial or industrial facility. New construction projects do not qualify for this rebate.

How the program works

Earn $200 per qualifying horsepower when you install ECM motors in existing air conditioning and/or refrigeration equipment. All work must be performed by a licensed contractor.

Note: A pre-verification is not required for the ECM program.

Acquiring your rebate

After the ECM is installed, please have the following information available before you start completing the Electronically Commutated Motors rebate application:

  • Tampa Electric customer account number
  • Contractor license number
  • Contractor license number expiration date

The application will prompt you to upload the following information:

  • Paid receipt/invoice (proof of purchase)
  • Specification sheets

The information above must be submitted to qualify for the rebate. Please allow four weeks for processing.

When you're ready, complete and submit the Electronically Commutated Motors rebate application Secure Form Icon. Once you submit the application, you will receive an enrollment/confirmation number that you can use to access your application. Be sure to write down and save the enrollment/confirmation number.

To access an existing application Secure Form Icon, simply enter the enrollment/confirmation number you received when you initially submitted your application. This will allow you to make changes and upload any required files.
