Nancy Tower

Nancy Tower serves as president and chief executive officer of Tampa Electric Co.

In her previous role as chief corporate development officer for Emera, she focused on mergers and acquisitions and the advancement of strategic growth projects in the areas of electric and gas transmission and generation. Tower played a lead role in the deal that brought TECO Energy into the Emera group of companies.

Since Tower joined Emera in 1997, she has held senior positions in corporate finance and operations, including controller, vice president of Customer Operations for Nova Scotia Power and chief financial officer of Emera Inc.

Tower is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and a 2011 recipient of Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award. She is a graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Tower is a member of the Florida Council of 100, Enterprise Florida and the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. She serves on the Dalhousie University Faculty of Management Advisory Board. She previously served as the campaign co-chair of the United Way's Halifax Region.


T.J. Szelistowski

T.J. Szelistowski is president of Peoples Gas System where he leads a team responsible for the operation and maintenance of the company's approximately 12,500 miles of distribution mains and 160 miles of transmission lines that provide natural gas service to more than 370,000 customers in most of the metropolitan areas of Florida.

A Professional Engineer, Szelistowski has a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a MBA from the University of Tampa. He has more than 32 years of electric and gas utility experience at Tampa Electric working in a number of engineering and management positions, including vice president of Gas Delivery, director of T&D Operations, director of Energy Control Center, director of Engineering and Operations Services, and managing director of Regulatory Affairs.


Carlos Aldazabal

Carlos Aldazabal is vice president of Regulatory Affairs for Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas System.

Since joining Tampa Electric in 1999, he has held leadership positions in the areas of fuel and interchange accounting, surveillance reporting, budgeting and analysis, and served as manager and director of Regulatory Affairs. His duties have included managing cost recovery for fuel and purchased power, interchange sales, and capacity payments as well as overseeing cost recovery for all other of Tampa Electric's and Peoples Gas' clauses. Aldazabal also spent some time as director of Investor Relations. Aldazabal has served as a company witness and has testified during various hearings at the Florida Public Service Commission.

Aldazabal received both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accountancy from the University of South Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant.


Gerry Chasse

Gerry Chasse is vice president of Electric Delivery for Tampa Electric where he is responsible for delivering electricity and modernizing the grid to serve the company's nearly 730,000 customers in West Central Florida.

Most recently Vice Chair of the Emera Maine Board of Directors, Chasse has served in several leadership roles in his more than 25 years at Emera affiliated companies. He started with Bangor Hydro in 1990 and progressed through engineering and electrical operations until 2002 when he became manager of Engineering. In 2010, he was appointed president & COO and became president & COO of Maine Public Service the following year, ultimately merging the two companies into one in 2014.

Most recently, Chasse spent a year leading Emera's effort to modernize the Emera affiliate grids through the implementation of smart grid technologies and the advancement to electrification of transportation and heating. His role included the development of strategies to enable customer choice, integrate renewable generation, manage increased load on the grid through its efficient utilization, and drive value for customers and shareholders.

A licensed professional engineer, Chasse holds a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maine. He currently serves on the advisory board for the College of Engineering at the University of Maine as well as the advisory board for the Foundation for Maine's Community Colleges. He has also served on the boards of the Energy Council of the Northeast and the Maine Business School.


Jeff Chronister

Jeff Chronister is vice president of Finance, where he leads a team of professionals responsible for accounting, financial reporting and business planning for Tampa Electric and TECO Energy.

Chronister has served in several leadership roles in his more than 30 years at TECO, including as Tampa Electric's controller.

A Certified Public Accountant since 1983, Chronister has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Stetson University. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs.

Chronister has served many community organizations, including the Shriners Hospital for Children and local Little League organizations. He is also an alumnus of both Tampa Connection and Leadership Tampa.


Archie Collins

Archie Collins is chief operating officer of Tampa Electric, responsible for the oversight of Energy Supply and Energy Delivery at the utility.

Collins has more than 27 years of experience in the energy industry. He began his career at Nova Scotia Power in 1990, and he has held increasingly senior roles since then. He joined Emera Energy in 2010 as vice president of Operations, and was instrumental in the growth and development of the business. Most recently, Collins served as president and chief executive officer of Grand Bahama Power Co., and president and chief operating officer of Emera Caribbean.

Collins is a professional chemical engineer, and he holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from St. Francis Xavier University and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Dalhousie University.


Shawn D. Copeland

Shawn Copeland is the vice president of Safety for Tampa Electric. He is responsible for the company's five-year Safety Strategy and Safety Management System.

Copeland joined TECO in 2006 as manager of Transmission and Distribution Operations. He has worked in the electric utility industry for 35 years in various leadership roles, most recently as director of Distribution Engineering and Operations.

Copeland received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. His leadership programs include the Leadership Development Program at the Center of Creative Leadership, the Leadership Development Program at Duke University and the American Gas Association's Executive Leadership Development program. He is a past member of the AEIC Power Apparatus Committee.


Laura Crouch

Laura Crouch is vice president of State & Community Relations and Economic Development for Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas.

Crouch joined TECO in 1993 and has more than two decades of experience working with governmental agencies in a broad range of departments, including Environmental, Regulatory, Resource Planning and Business Strategy. Most recently, she spent five years as director of Community Relations, Local Government and Economic Development for Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas.

Crouch received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of South Florida.

She serves on the Florida Chamber Foundation Board, the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee of the board, Tampa Downtown Partnership's Executive Committee of the board, Visit Tampa Bay Advisory Board, Westshore Alliance Executive Committee of the board, Leadership Tampa '15 Alumnae, Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class XXXVII and other economic development and community organizations.


Rene Gallant

Rene Gallant is vice president of Business Development for Tampa Electric. He is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with municipal and cooperative utilities and for strategic growth initiatives.

Gallant joined Emera in 2005 as regulatory counsel with Nova Scotia Power. He has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as executive vice president of Business Strategy and Regulatory Affairs for Emera Newfoundland & Labrador.

Prior to joining Emera, Gallant worked at a private law firm and served as general counsel to the Halifax Regional School Board.

Gallant earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Political Science at Mount Allision University, and his Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie Law School. Gallant has served as national president of the Canadian Cancer Society, vice chair of the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer and as a fundraising leader for the United Way in the energy industry. He has also served as president of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and as a board member of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.


Thomas L. Hernandez

Thomas L. "Tom" Hernandez is senior vice president of Distributed Energy and Renewables for Tampa Electric. He has primary responsibility for developing and securing approval of the strategic growth plan for customer-focused, distributed energy resources, including generation and energy-storage technologies. He also will work to develop clean and sustainable renewable energy technologies that will be transformative and affordable for the company's 750,000 customers.

Previously, Hernandez was vice president of Energy Supply, vice president of Energy Delivery and Customer Services and vice president of Regulatory Affairs. He joined Tampa Electric in August 1982 as an associate engineer in the Production Department. During his career with the company, he has held a variety of positions in operations, engineering, planning, marketing, fuels and environmental.

Hernandez received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Hernandez serves on the board of The Florida Aquarium. He previously served eight years on the Children's Board of Hillsborough County, including as chair and treasurer. He is a past executive board member and chair of the Resource Working Group of the Florida Electric Power Coordination Group.


Timothy O'Connor

Timothy O'Connor is vice president of Business Development for TECO Peoples Gas. His responsibilities include executing Peoples Gas' growth strategy, focusing on system growth and expansion through pipeline expansions, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquified natural gas (LNG) and combined heat and power (CHP) opportunities.

Since joining Emera in 2006, O'Connor has served in roles of increasing responsibility, including in accounting, strategy and business development at Emera Maine, Emera Energy and Emera Inc.

O'Connor earned his bachelor's degree in both finance and economics from New York University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University.


Rick Wall

Rick Wall is the vice president of Gas Operations for TECO Peoples Gas System, where he is responsible for the utility's natural gas distribution and transmission operations across its 14 operating divisions. The company's natural gas systems encompass about 12,500 miles of distribution mains and 220 miles of transmission lines that provide natural gas service to more than 370,000 customers in most of the metropolitan areas of Florida.

With nearly four decades of natural gas utility experience, Wall joined Peoples Gas in 2005 as general manager of the South Region. He served as director of the East Region, and later as director of Gas Operations before being promoted to vice president of Gas Operations in 2017.

Wall is past president and serves on the board of the Florida Natural Gas Association and is a former managing committee chairman of the Distribution Operations and Engineering Section of the Southern Gas Association. He is a former member of the Energy Codes and Standards committees of the American Gas Association (AGA) and the Dade County Construction Licensing Board. He is also a former technical advisor at the Gas Research Institute.

Wall attended the University of Oklahoma School of Hydro Carbon Measurement and Engineering and has completed the AGA Executive Leadership Program, the Wharton Executive Education Program, and the University of Tampa TECO COHORT II Program, among others.


Joann T. Wehle

Joann T. Wehle is vice president of Marketing and Sales for TECO Peoples Gas. She is responsible for the company's sales and marketing, including growth of the company's customer base.

Since joining TECO in 1990, Wehle has served in roles of increasing responsibility in the Audit Services, Marketing, Fuels Management, Energy Conservation, and New Construction departments. Most recently, Wehle was director of Marketing and Fuel Planning for Peoples Gas.

Wehle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind., and completed graduate coursework in accounting at the University of Florida. Wehle maintains her CPA license in Florida and held a variety of accounting and auditing jobs earlier in her career.


Monica Whiting

Monica Whiting is vice president of Customer Experience for Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas. She is responsible for leading Tampa Electric's and Peoples Gas' customer service operations, including the contact center, customer billing, payment and collections, account management, new customer construction project management, and the customer relationship management billing system.

Whiting joined TECO in January 2017 after spending nearly four years as the chief customer officer for JEA. She has more than two decades of utility experience in customer service, communications and product development at utilities, including Colorado Springs Utilities and Anaheim Public Utilities.

She has a bachelor's degree in Public Relations/Journalism from the University of Southern California.

Whiting has served on various boards, including Leadership Jacksonville and the North Florida Region Red Cross. She also served on the United Way Campaign Cabinet for Northeast Florida in 2014 and 2015. Previously, the Colorado governor appointed her to serve two terms on the Low Income Energy Assistance Commission in that state.

Sarah MacDonald is president of TECO Services Inc. where she is responsible for the company's Legal, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology departments as well as corporate communications, security, safety, procurement, facility services, process excellence, and emergency management functions.

MacDonald most recently served as president of Emera (Caribbean) Inc., president and CEO of ICD Utilities Limited, and president and CEO of Grand Bahama Power Company.

She joined Emera in 2001 and has served as CEO at Emera Utility Services, executive vice president of Human Resources for Emera and general manager of Human Resources for Nova Scotia Power.

MacDonald earned her law degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax and received her MBA from Saint Mary's University in Halifax.


Greg Blunden

Greg Blunden is senior vice president of Finance and Accounting and chief financial officer (CFO) of TECO Energy and CFO of Emera Inc.

Blunden joined Emera in 2000 and has held financial leadership roles at Emera Inc., Emera Maine and Nova Scotia Power. He has gained valuable experience and industry insight into all aspects of Emera's business, including corporate finance, business development, utility operations, customer service, renewable energy and regulatory policy.

Most recently, he was Emera's vice president of Corporate Strategy & Planning and before that held the position of executive vice president of Customer, Business & Financial Services at Nova Scotia Power.

Blunden is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a graduate of Mount Allison University.


David Nicholson

David M. Nicholson is vice president of Legal, general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer. He is responsible for legal affairs, federal governmental affairs, real estate and ethics and compliance.

Prior to joining TECO in 1999, Nicholson was a shareholder at the Tampa law firm of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen. While at the firm, he represented Peoples Gas before it was acquired by TECO in 1997.

Nicholson received his Bachelor of Science and graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Law. Upon graduation, he was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While in law school he also attended the University of Glasgow, Scotland, for a year on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship.

Nicholson serves on the board of the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation, where he is past president. He also serves on the boards of the Tampa Bay History Center and the University Club of Tampa.


Karen Mincey

Karen Mincey is vice president of Information Technology and Telecommunications and chief information officer for TECO Energy.

Mincey leads a team of technical professionals responsible for TECO Energy's corporate computing systems. She joined TECO in 1990 and worked in Commercial & Industrial Marketing as well as Distribution Engineering.

She has been nationally recognized for her leadership in the Information Technology industry. Mincey has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University New Orleans.

Mincey serves on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay and on the advisory board for the University of South Florida Department of Electrical Engineering. She is a member of the IT Advisory Group for the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. She also serves on the board of Tallahassee-based Municode, the nation's leading codifier of local government ordinances that helps municipalities become more consumer-friendly in the digital age. She is past chair of the board of the Hillsborough Community College Foundation.


David E. Schwartz

David E. Schwartz serves as vice president of Governance, associate general counsel and corporate secretary of TECO Energy.

Schwartz leads a group responsible for corporate governance matters; legal advice on financing matters, SEC reporting and other public disclosures; and the corporate administration for the company and its subsidiaries.

Schwartz received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining TECO Energy in 1992, he was an associate with the law firm of Baker & Botts in Houston.

Schwartz serves on the executive committee of the board of directors of the Tampa Theatre and the advisory committees of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals Southeastern Chapter and the Florida Directors' Institute. Schwartz formerly served as president of the Association of Corporate Counsel's West Central Florida Chapter and as chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Corporate Counsel Section.
