Tampa Electric completing restoration efforts in Winter Haven
TAMPA, August 18, 2004
Tampa Electric today reported that its team has repaired all of its damaged circuits and restored power to customers with known power outages, with the exception of those customers with damage to their homes and infrastructure that prohibits restoration.
In other news, the company has sent approximately 100 Tampa Electric line workers and tree trimmers to assist the City of Wauchula, which has a municipal electric system with substantial damage. Other Tampa Electric resources have been deployed to help other areas. This is in addition to crews from out-of-state utilities that were released by Tampa Electric throughout the restoration process.
Vice President-Energy Delivery Tom Hernandez said, "With Tampa Electric’s customers substantially restored, it’s our turn to lend a hand to other utilities still facing substantial damage."
Customers still without power in Winter Haven at this point should call 888-223-0800 (toll-free) or 863-299-0800.
