Tampa Electric launches new web site with improved customer service features

With just a click of their computer mouse, Tampa Electric customers now can manage nearly every aspect of their account via the Internet.
Today, Tampa Electric introduces a totally redesigned company Web site providing residential customers with 24 hour-a-day online access to their electricity accounts, and a host of other energy services.
Leading the list of improvements is E-bill, a new, streamlined Web-based billing and payment service. With E-bill, customers can, at no additional charge:
- Electronically pay their monthly electric bill online;
- View their bill and payment history.
"Our customers have asked for more Web-based services and we've heard them," said Tampa Electric President John Ramil. "This new Web site saves our customers time and money."
E-bill allows customers to view their electric bill and payment history online. E-bill looks onscreen exactly like the printed electric bill customers are used to receiving each month in the mail.
"In our busy lives, innovative new features like E-bill provide our customers increased convenience, speed and simplicity," said Penni Allison, Director of Corporate Customer Services. "With just a click you can check your bill and pay it on the spot," she said.
The new Tampa Electric Web site is designed for ease of use with self-service in mind, automatically directing customers to the proper online source for information.
Customer requests for service will be automatically directed to the proper department for prompt attention by Tampa Electric Customer Service Professionals. For customers and employees alike this means better, faster service.
In addition to providing customers greater direct access to their accounts, other Tampa Electric products and services available online are:
- Open or reopen accounts;
- Transfer service within Tampa Electric service area;
- Request Line Clearance;
- Order Zap Cap® System for Home and Business power surge protection;
- Smart Source renewable fuel source program;
