Power and Associates measured overall residential customer satisfaction with their electric utility by looking at 6 categories: customer service; billing and payment; image; price and value; power quality and reliability; and overall satisfaction
In ranking their electric company on the customer service category, survey respondents were asked to consider courtesy, listening, concern, helpfulness, knowledge, first-call resolution, delivery of what was promised, promptness and convenient hours.
Overall, Tampa Electric ranked 11th nationally and sixth in the South.
"I'd like to see the company in the top three for 2002," Autry said. "It's a challenge I know our employees are ready for."
The study is based on 25,501 interviews with residential customers of the 71 largest electric companies throughout the continental United States. J.D. Power collected responses through telephone interviews in March, April and May. J.D. Power independently funds and conducts the survey
