About Your Rates
Tampa Electric residential customers' bills remain about 17 percent below the national average
Effective September 2018, Tampa Electric customers will see bills that reflect slightly higher rates approved by the Florida Public Service Commission as part of an adjustment marking the completion of the first phase of Tampa Electric's four-phase plan to build 600 megawatts of solar generation. Over their lifetimes, the solar generation projects will provide savings to customers in the form of lower fuel costs.
Fuel costs are passed through from fuel suppliers to our customers with no markup or profit to Tampa Electric.
