Tampa Electric is committed to providing reliable, cost-effective electricity to you and your neighbors in Tampa.
Tampa Electric plans to upgrade a power line in your neighborhood. The company will upgrade about 4 miles of a 69-kilovolt (kV) power line from the Juneau Substation, 2112 W. Juneau St., east along Waters Avenue, north along Edison Avenue and North Boulevard, and west through several neighborhoods, ending at the Pine Lake Substation, 2012 Pine Lake Dr. This equipment upgrade is needed to ensure the homes and businesses in your area continue to receive reliable power. (Please see attached map.)
The new poles will be concrete or steel, up to 74 feet tall and up to 24 inches wide at ground level.
Some trees will need to be trimmed or cleared, and traffic will be temporarily disrupted during the installation of the equipment. Residents may hear some construction-related noise during daylight hours on weekdays. Construction is scheduled to begin in March and to be complete at the end of the year. We urge residents to drive safely during construction for the safety of residents, vehicles and Tampa Electric crews.
If you would like to learn more about this project, please plan to attend our open house, when Tampa Electric representatives will be available to provide more details of the project and to answer your questions: 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Forest Hills Park Community Center, 724 W. 109th Ave.
