If you don't qualify...
If you do not qualify for an energy-saving kit through the Neighborhood Weatherization program, you may be able to obtain a kit or other energy-saving items by participating in one of the following programs.
Neighborhood Service Center Agency Outreach program – provides qualifying customers with bill payment assistance through the Federal Government's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). To be eligible to receive assistance, your household's income may not exceed 150 percent of the poverty guidelines. If you live in Hillsborough County, you may apply at one of the Hillsborough County local agency providers. The agency will assign a case manager who will share an energy-educational video and provide the information you need to schedule a free Home Energy Audit and have energy-saving items installed in your home (you may still qualify if you rent your home). If you live in Pasco County or Polk County, please call our independent contractor, Alternative Energy Applications at 813-685-4631. If you live in Pinellas County, please call our independent contractor, Roman and Sons at 813-922-1576.
Energy Education Outreach program – offers customers the opportunity to invite an energy expert from Tampa Electric to present valuable energy-saving tips and program information at your event. An event can include a group of customers gathering for a neighborhood meeting, a classroom of adults and/or children, a business function and more. Submit a request with Tampa Electric's Speakers Bureau form . Tampa Electric customers who attend the event may qualify for a self-install energy-saving kit.
Free Home Energy Audit – identify areas in your home where you may be wasting valuable energy. Learn more and sign up at our Energy Audit page. Tampa Electric will make a free pack of eight energy-efficient fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) available to you when you participate.
