Staff from the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay and Hillsborough County Public Schools meet up at the school district’s warehouse to help distribute lifesaving information to local schools. The initiative receives funding from Tampa Electric shareholders.
Tampa Electric Proudly Supports the Crisis Center’s Lifesaving Mission
At Tampa Electric, we believe real impact starts with compassion followed by action. That’s why we support The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay in its mission to ensure that no one in our community has to face a crisis alone.
Each year, our shareholders fund the Crisis Center’s intervention cards—a small but powerful tool that makes a big difference. Each card includes contact information for 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and 211, which provides community resource referrals. In 2024, our support enabled printing of 229,000 cards, which are distributed to schools in our community and make their way into the hands of those who need them most, like:
- A high school student needing someone to talk to
- A law enforcement officer carrying the weight of the job
- A parent struggling to keep the lights on
- A spouse feeling trapped and alone
These cards connect our community members to trained professionals who can listen, guide and support them with critical and often live-saving resources—anytime, day or night.
