Maximize your production efficiency and reduce your electricity use when you install a variable frequency drive (VFD), variable speed drive (VSD) or other motor control that meets our specifications. VFDs or VSDs controlling commercial cooling units, chillers, variable air volume systems, demand circulating systems, escalator motors and energy-efficient exhaust hoods qualify for the rebate.
This rebate applies to new and existing construction projects.
How the program works
Tampa Electric provides a $75 rebate per Horsepower of the motor being controlled when you install a VFD that meets our specifications.
Acquiring your rebate
After the equipment is installed, please have the following information available before you start completing the VFD and Motor Controls rebate application:
- Tampa Electric customer account number
- Contractor license number
- Contractor license number expiration date
- Motor efficiency
The application will prompt you to upload the following information:
- Specification sheets
- Detailed contractor proposal
- Paid Invoice
- Photo(s) of the new equipment (optional)
The information above must be submitted to qualify for the rebate. Please allow four weeks for processing.
When you're ready, complete and submit the Variable Frequency Drive and Motor Controls program rebate application. Once you submit the application, you will receive an enrollment/confirmation number that you can use to access your application. Be sure to write down and save the enrollment/confirmation number.
To access an existing application, simply enter the enrollment/confirmation number you received when you initially submitted your application. This will allow you to make changes and upload any required files.
