Life doesn’t always go as planned. When customers need extra support, we’re here to help! We offer them more time to pay their bill and help connect them with community organizations and assistance programs that may provide additional support.

Our Share program helps connect customers with energy bill assistance through nonprofit community partners. The program is funded through donations from TECO employees and shareholders, customers and community partners and matched by TECO shareholders dollar-for-dollar up to $500,000 each year.

We also offer free energy-saving programs that help customers save energy and manage future energy costs, including energy audits and our Neighborhood Weatherization program.

Help for our Environment

We all enjoy Florida’s natural beauty. At Tampa Electric, we’re committed to preserving our environment in every decision and action as we serve the community’s energy needs. From our award-winning wastewater treatment plant at our Polk Power Station to our wildly popular Manatee Viewing Center, we’re helping to protect Florida's ecosystem.

We’re investing in solar electric generation, equipment upgrades and technology advancements that optimize our power plants’ efficiency. As a result, we’ve cut coal to less than one percent of our fuel mix, reduced fuel costs for customers and dramatically lowered our emissions, all while generating more electricity to power our growing region.
