When Hurricane Milton struck in 2024, Fitlife Foods—a company known for preparing healthy, portion-controlled meals—faced a major setback.

Its Plant City Culinary Center lost power for days, halting production and delaying meal deliveries to customers and community partners like Feeding Tampa Bay.

Once power was restored, Fitlife asked us one critical question: How can we prevent this from happening again?

The answer: collaboration.

Tampa Electric partnered with Fitlife to strengthen reliability and reduce downtime in future storms. While no system is stormproof, planning and communication make a big difference—and together, we developed strategies to help keep their operations running when it matters most.
