During periods of very high electricity demand, such as extremely hot or cold weather, Tampa Electric may ask participants to temporarily switch from grid power to their on-site generators. Participants will receive advance notice—via text, email, or phone—before any switch is requested. Customers will receive a monthly bill credit of $6.15 per average kilowatt demand regardless of whether a switch is requested.
