Tampa Electric President & CEO Archie Collins and Coach Tony Dungy hosted a powerful conversation centered on family, fatherhood and the lessons that shape strong communities.
Strong communities often begin at home, and Tampa Electric is proud to support organizations that provide resources, encouragement and opportunities for families throughout Florida.
Recently, Pro Football Hall of Famer, Super Bowl-winning coach and bestselling author Tony Dungy visited Tampa Electric to discuss leadership, family and community impact. The conversation highlighted a shared commitment to strengthening families and creating positive opportunities for children and parents.
While many people know Dungy for his success on the football field, his impact extends far beyond the game. As co-founder and national spokesperson for All Pro Dad, a program of Tampa-based nonprofit Family First, Dungy has spent decades promoting responsible fatherhood, family engagement and positive role models for children.
Supporting Programs That Strengthen Families
Tampa Electric's partnership with Family First began in 2024 through Florida's Strong Families Tax Credit Program. The program allows businesses to direct a portion of their state taxes to approved charitable organizations that support child welfare, foster care, adoption and family-strengthening services.
Through this partnership, Tampa Electric helps support programs focused on family engagement, responsible fatherhood and resources for foster and adoptive families. These efforts help create stronger support systems for children and families across the communities we serve.

What began as a local initiative founded by Family First President Mark Merrill and Tony Dungy has grown into a national movement. Today, All Pro Dad supports families through school chapters, family events and digital resources designed to help parents build stronger relationships with their children.
More than 1,400 All Pro Dad chapters operate in schools across 42 states, giving fathers and father figures practical tools to connect with, encourage and support their children.
Leadership Beyond the Game
During the discussion, Dungy reflected on lessons from his coaching career, emphasizing that lasting success is measured not only by achievements, but also by service to others and the positive impact people have on their families and communities.
He spoke about the importance of character, leadership and investing in future generations, encouraging attendees to consider how small acts of encouragement and mentorship can make a lasting difference.
