Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas today were awarded Chartwell’s 2025 Gold Award for Excellence in Digital Experience for a new move-in request portal, called MiMove.
Chartwell’s 2025 Best Practices Awards recognize excellence among electric and gas utilities for projects, programs and service initiatives that are innovative and customer-focused.
MiMove is an online application that simplifies the process for new customers who are signing up for service – as well as for current customers who are transferring service to a new address. It also allows customer service representatives to more easily and efficiently transfer service for those customers.
Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas determined that the most time-consuming interactions were to start or transfer service to a new address. The companies evaluated feedback from customers to develop MiMove, which simplified the process for customers and employees.

Since MiMove launched in January, the self-service application has handled 45 percent of move-in and transfer requests, surpassing all project goals. It also has reduced call volume, improved service levels and enhanced the experience for customers who are starting service at a new address.
The companies will accept the prestigious award at EMACS – Chartwell’s Customer Experience Conference in Dallas in October.
