Tampa Electric’s Commitments to West Central Florida
As West Central Florida grows, we're seeing interest from new large-energy users, including data centers. Our responsibility is clear: protect existing customers while planning responsibly for the future.

1. Existing customers come first
Existing customers will not pay for the costs or financial risks of new large-energy users. These customers must pay for the infrastructure needed to serve their projects and make long-term financial commitments before service begins.
2. Reliability will not be compromised
We will not connect new large-energy users unless we can continue providing safe, reliable electric service. We plan years ahead and evaluate available power generation and transmission capacity before new service begins.
3. Growth will make the grid stronger
Investments in power generation, transmission, substations and smarter grid technology will expand capacity, improve reliability and strengthen storm resilience.
4. Today's growth will benefit tomorrow
We make disciplined, long-term investments that protect affordability and reliability, strengthen our communities and respect the environment. Today's growth will create lasting value for West Central Florida.
