Communities thrive on sparks of creative energy.
That’s why we’re proud to invest in art education at the Tampa Museum of Art in downtown Tampa.
Our commitment means thousands of students and families across our region will benefit from enriching educational experiences at the museum. Each year, more than 24,000 people engage in learning opportunities at the Tampa Museum of Art. Their experiences start in the newly named TECO Educational Lobby of the museum’s Vinik Family Education Center.
“Tampa Electric’s partnership helps us expand opportunities for the community to connect with art in ways that foster creativity, confidence and emotional well-being,” says Michael Tomor, Ph.D., the Penny and Jeff Vinik Executive Director of the Tampa Museum of Art.
The museum’s education center, completed in 2022, features more than 8,000 square feet of dedicated space for studio art classes, early childhood learning, school tours and comprehensive programs for all ages and abilities. Our support helps expand these offerings and ensure high-quality arts education remains accessible to the community.

“Education has always been a core value for us,” says Carlos Aldazabal, vice president of energy supply at Tampa Electric. “We’re honored to support the Tampa Museum of Art’s mission to enrich lives through art. This partnership helps open doors to creativity and discovery for families and students throughout the region.”
Our support for the museum comes from shareholder funds and does not impact customer bills. By elevating art education, we help bring creativity to life through hands-on activities, curriculum-connected experiences and programs that spark imagination and self-expression.
