Tampa Electric was recognized as one of the utilities that is easiest to do business with in Escalent’s 2025 Cogent Syndicated Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™: Residential study. The company was one of just 40 utilities honored for making significant improvements in customers’ convenience and ease of use.
Tampa Electric has recently made it even easier for customers to conveniently serve themselves:
- MiMove is a new, digital solution that allows customers to turn on or transfer their electric service to a new address - all without speaking to an agent. This self-service option offers greater speed, flexibility and convenience.
- The Construction Center portal enables builders and developers to easily create and manage construction projects online, eliminating the time and hassle of hand-delivering or emailing documents.
Nearly 60,000 residential customers from the 140 largest U.S. utility companies responded to the survey. Customers rated 20 attributes that comprise the Customer Effort Score, a measure of how easy it is to do business with a utility. The study evaluated experiences across customer touchpoints, such as bill payment, website usability and mobile access.
“I am so proud of our team members, who work hard every day to deliver an exceptional customer experience,” said Karen Sparkman, vice president of Customer Experience for Tampa Electric. “We are constantly looking for ways to make things easier and more convenient for our customers, and we’re grateful that they’ve recognized our efforts.”
Tampa Electric was also recently recognized by Escalent for being a 2024 Customer Champion for residential customer engagement and as a 2024 Business Customer Champion for commercial customer engagement.
