Demolition Request - Please allow:
- Up to 15 business days for inspecting and removing Tampa Electric-owned single-phase equipment accessible with a bucket truck.
- 6 to 8 weeks for requests not accessible with a bucket truck, involving three-phase equipment, underground service or current transformers (CTs).
Response times may vary based on weather, request complexity and workload.
Our demolition process is designed to ensure everyone's safety. To carry out the demolition process, please follow the steps below:
- Complete Tampa Electric's Demolition Application
- Obtain and submit your city or county's completed Demolition Permit Application, available at the locations listed below.
- If a sign-off sheet is required, please submit it along with the demolition application.
To help avoid delays, please:
- Verify with the other parties you are working with (governmental agencies, homeowners, contractors, etc.) that a demolition request has not already been submitted.
- Complete a site visit to verify the meter number and/or grid-pole number on each pole that will be removed (a grid-pole number can be found on a metal tag attached to the electric pole).
- Have the customer of record contact Tampa Electric and close any active accounts.
Once Tampa Electric receives your applications and sign-off sheet, we will email you a confirmation of receipt. Once demolition is complete, after meters and service lines have been removed, the completed sign-off sheet and confirmation letter will be sent to the customer/contractor.
